Privacy Policy

thenotillninjas.com (“the site”) is run by Trichome Digital, based in Fremont, California, for the No-Till Ninjas home-grow project (“we”, “us”). We decide how the information described here is used.

Leaderboard names are public, so don't use your real name if you'd rather not. We don't ask for or knowingly collect sensitive information such as health, financial or government ID details.

Some things are saved only in your own browser (local storage) and never sent to us: your best game scores, your ninja name, your Masterclass progress, quiz results and grow plan, grow room preferences, the blog scrolls you've collected and your poll votes. Clearing your browser's site data removes them.

Strictly necessary

These keep you signed in. The site doesn't work properly without them, so they don't need your consent:

• masterclass_session: remembers that you've unlocked the Masterclass (up to 90 days).
• grow_session: keeps invited growers signed in to their grow room (up to 60 days).
• team_session: keeps the crew signed in (up to 60 days).

Analytics (only with your consent)

If you click Accept on the cookie banner, we load Google Analytics 4, which sets cookies named _ga and _ga_* (up to 2 years) to count visits and tell new visitors from returning ones. If you decline, or your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, Google Analytics doesn't load at all. Google Analytics' advertising features are switched off.

We don't sell your personal information, and we don't share it for advertising. We use these service providers, who handle it only to run the site for us:

• Netlify: hosts the site, stores newsletter sign-ups and grow room data.
• Cloudflare: runs the domain, the Ninja Duel and leaderboard servers, and our email forwarding.
• Google: Google Analytics, only if you accept analytics cookies.
• AC Infinity and Ecowitt: only if you connect your own sensors, and only to fetch your readings.

When you play Ninja Duel, your opponent sees the name you chose. We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect our rights or someone's safety, or as part of a sale or transfer of the project.

Links to other sites (like our Instagram) follow those sites' own privacy policies. Our providers may process data in the United States and other countries.

Wherever you live, you can ask us to:

• tell you what personal information we hold about you and give you a copy;
• correct it, or delete it (including a leaderboard name or a grow room account);
• stop sending you emails (every email has an unsubscribe link, or just reply and ask).

California residents have these rights under the CCPA/CPRA: to know, delete and correct personal information, to opt out of its sale or sharing (we don't sell or share it), to limit use of sensitive information (we don't collect any for that purpose), and not to be treated differently for using these rights. We honor Global Privacy Control signals.

Visitors from the EU, UK and similar places also have the right to object to or restrict processing, to data portability, to withdraw consent at any time, and to complain to their local data protection authority. Our legal bases are your consent (newsletter, analytics), running the service you asked for (grow rooms, leaderboards, Ninja Duel), and our legitimate interest in keeping the site secure and fair.

To make a request, email hello@thenotillninjas.com. We may need to confirm it's you before acting, and we'll reply within 45 days (30 days for EU/UK requests).

Everything travels over HTTPS. Grow room passwords are stored only as salted hashes, and sensor logins are encrypted. No system is perfectly secure, so use a password here that you don't use anywhere else. If we learn of a breach that affects you, we'll tell you as the law requires.

The site isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their personal information. Our growing content, the Masterclass and grow rooms are for adults 21 and over (see the Terms). If you think a child has given us information, email hello@thenotillninjas.com and we'll delete it.

We'll update this page when what we collect changes (for example, when the Masterclass starts taking payments) and change the date at the top. For big changes we'll also post a notice on the site or email newsletter subscribers.
